Fabric Applique Boy Onesies

Just within the past few weeks I've had family and several friends that have had babies. All of these babies have been boys! Crazy huh? I needed some quick but cute gifts to give so I made these darling fabric applique onesies. 
Supplies needed:
Baby onesies
Fabric Scraps
Heat n Bond Ultrahold (NO-SEW)
Various templates-the sky's the limit with these. Just google a shape you want. Print and cut out. 
Iron


Love this stuff! 

Trace your template onto the smooth side of the heat n bond then iron onto the wrong side of your fabric. Cut out your fabric shape. Peel off heat n bond paper then place on onesie where you want it and iron on. That's it! You can also add embellishments like buttons or ribbon. So fun! I can't wait to make some baby girl onesies!

    I found you via Pinterest! These are sooo cute! Plus, they totally look easy to make - Bonus!! One question though, do the shapes ever unravel along the edges when you use the Heat Bond? Even after lots of washes? Just wondering how they hold up long-term! Thanks!!

      Glad you found my blog! Yes, over time the edges will fray a bit. You could sew around the edges if you want to avoid that from happening. Thanks for stopping by!!

    Ohhh, I'm so excited...I enjoy doing applique, but not so much on small pieces, and not so much on stretchy material. I've wanted to do some T-Shirts and Onesies for my baby boy, but putting it off.

    Now I'm thrilled because -- even though I've been sewing (and appliqueing) for years -- I HAD NO IDEA THAT THERE WAS A NO-SEW UTLRAHOLD HEAT 'N BOND!!!

    How in the world have I missed this? Lol. This changes my world, I can't wait to try it! Though a little part inside of me is still wondering if it really works, lol.

    And I think it can really suit well using any kind of fabric but cotton is still the best option when you're talking about a onesie because the comfort is just different from any kind of fabric. Thanks for the share! I love your input in this.

    I did a bunch of these and washed them and well preg hormones got the best f m and I bawled when a ton of them came right off in the wash after hours of work :(

    I love these!!! But I am curious how they hold up in the wash...do the edges shrivel up or do they hold up well?

      For the most part they hold up well but I have had a few that the edges curled up. I would recommend sewing around the edges if you don't want this to happen.

    I tried using the ultra hold heat n bond on a onesie today...my first time...and the corners do not stay adhered. followed the directions exactly. Please help. I tried to sew them down, but it was too thick.
