Plastic Tub Turned Toy Bin

A couple of weeks ago I found this fun plastic flex tub at Target for only $5.00 and knew exactly what I would use it for. It's a perfect container for all of the little guys toys.

Today I pulled out the Silhouette and cut some fun vinyl shapes to give the tub some character and make it fun for the little man to look at. 

Isn't the robot so fun!

I also tied a bunch of ribbon to the handles to add another element of fun.

I love this solution for his toys because when he's following me around the house, especially the bathroom, I can grab it and bring it in with us and he can pull out all his toys from the bin instead of all the toiletries from the bathroom drawers.

Chocolate Chocolate Cupcakes

Want to know something about me? It might not come as a big surprise after looking at these photos but I LOVE CHOCOLATE!!
Loving chocolate is a weakness that's for sure but it's one that I'm willing to live with!  
Last night I was having one of those chocolate cravings and these chocolate cupcakes hit the spot! Chocolate moist cake with chocolate ganache, chocolate buttercream frosting and topped with chocolate sprinkles and a Belgian Chocolate Thin. As you can see it's a chocoholic dream come true! 

I discovered these Belgian Chocolate Thins at Target a while back and let me just say, they are divine! If you haven't already tried them, I'll just apologize now for introducing them to you because you'll love them!

Strawberry Coconut Popsicles

With the temperatures reaching into the 100's here in Utah this week we've had to find a variety of ways to cool down. Besides swimming and running through the sprinkles we've also eaten a lot of popsicles. 

Here's a popsicle that's full of flavor and healthy as well. We used strawberries and blueberries, but you could combine any kind of berries you'd like to create a yummy and cool treat.

Strawberry Coconut Popsicles

1 cup strawberries
1 cup blueberries
1 1/2 cups coconut milk
2 cups water
1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup honey

Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour mixture into popsicles molds or 5 oz. Dixie cups, filling 2/3 of the way. Freeze for 30 minutes, insert sticks and continue to chill until the popsicles are fully frozen (2 hours or more). Enjoy!!

*Frozen berries work for this recipe also.

Fabric Applique Boy Onesies

Just within the past few weeks I've had family and several friends that have had babies. All of these babies have been boys! Crazy huh? I needed some quick but cute gifts to give so I made these darling fabric applique onesies. 
Supplies needed:

Baby onesies

Fabric Scraps

Heat n Bond Ultrahold (NO-SEW)

Various templates-the sky's the limit with these. Just google a shape you want. Print and cut out. 

Iron

Love this stuff! 

Trace your template onto the smooth side of the heat n bond then iron onto the wrong side of your fabric. Cut out your fabric shape. Peel off heat n bond paper then place on onesie where you want it and iron on. That's it! You can also add embellishments like buttons or ribbon. So fun! I can't wait to make some baby girl onesies!

Mom's Banana Bread

This is how our bananas looked this morning. Ugly enough that the kids won't eat them anymore but just right for yummy banana bread. I've always used my mother's recipe because first off it's delicious but also because it's easy. Her recipe didn't call for chocolate chips but I have a love for chocolate and bananas!! I also sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the top of the batter right before I put them in the oven to bake. Yummy!! 

Mash your bananas. I just throw the bananas into my kitchen aid mixer with the paddle attachment first and let it mix them up then mix all ingredients together EXCEPT for nuts and chocolate chips.

Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula. Divide batter into greased pans and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Let cool in pans for a few minutes then turn out onto cooling rack.

Patriotic Rag Wreath

Here's another last minute holiday project that was super easy to pull together. I started this project late at night as I waited up for the teenage daughter to come home from a date. I didn't have a wire frame to use so I took a wire hanger and cut the hook part off with wire cutters then formed it into a circle and used duct tape to hold it together.


I used bandanas that I tore into strips then tied to the hanger. For a tutorial on how to make a fabric scraps wreath go here.  Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
