Thank You Basket + Printable Tag

Here's another simple gift idea for a teacher or anyone really. I found this cute container at Micheals and filled it with some note cards, a cute pen, a pad of paper and rubber stamp that all had my sons teachers initial of her last name on them. We're also going to add her favorite treat in there as well. To add a little more cuteness to it, I added a clip on flower to the front of the basket. I love the bright and cheery colors!

"Write" Teacher for me

With teacher appreciation week just around the corner and the end of the school year coming to an end, here's another simple gift to give. 

I got these darling pencils and notepad in the dollar section at Micheals. Teachers are always in need of pencils and paper! Tie them all together with some fun ribbon and a tag, or note from your child and you've got a simple but useful gift.

Bee-ing a Great Teacher + free printable

It's that time of year when school is coming to an end and we're all trying to come up with a little something to show our appreciation to all those fabulous teachers.  

Here's a simple gift idea using products from Burt's Bees. You can buy the products individually or use a small kit like this one that contains a variety of their products. 

Add some bakers twine and a tag and you're ready to go.

Simple Baby Blanket Gift

 

I'm so excited to share this little project with you. It's always fun to try something for the first time and have it turn out the way you envisioned it. 

I've never worked with minky fabric before, just for the fact that I've heard how hard it is to work with when sewing it. Well, I was adventurous and set out to make a blanket for my sweet neighbor who just had her baby.

I followed this great tutorial from How Does She. The only thing I did differently was that I added a LOT more pins. After sewing three sides of the blanket, I noticed that the minky fabric had slid to one side so much that it was all lop sided. So after unstitching the entire thing (not fun) and starting over, I decided to add more pins and it worked like a charm. It also helped me to sew slower because I had to remove all those pins as I went, which I think helped keep the fabric in place as well.

 

I also used the left over minky fabric to make some wash cloths.

Besides having to start over on the blanket the first time, it really didn't take that long to sew the blanket. I'm excited at how well it turned out and can't wait to make more for quick baby gifts.

Hugs and Kisses Gift Idea

Here's another gift idea to give to a friend, teacher, neighbor, or that special someone in your life. It's super easy to put together and filled with some yummy Hershey's Chocolate Hugs and Kisses.

I used Crystal Light containers like this one and just peeled off the outside paper then decorated it with scrapbook paper. Add a tag and fill with the chocolate then tied it with some tulle. See, super easy!

Christmas Gift Ideas

There's only 4 more days until the big day and I'm just finishing up gifts for the kids teachers and neighbors. I also just mailed out the last of our Christmas cards. Yep, I'm a little behind this year. 

Because I've left things to the last minute, we needed some quick but fun gifts to give neighbors and the kids teachers. Here are four simple gifts that were sparked by other creative individuals. (Thank goodness for Pinterest).

Festive Mixing Bowls

These mixing bowls were so simple to put together. I bought the bowls at the dollar store. Pull out your cutting machine and cut out circles on red and green vinyl. (Make sure to wash these bowls by hand). Decorate with the circles, then add some kind of mix.

Recipe Book with Dish

This fall I went to Swiss Days and came across a booth called Lemon Poppy. They were selling the most darling recipe books. The photos in the books make you want to lick the pages because the food looks so yummy! I bought a few of the "When Life Gives You Christmas" recipe books along with the polka dotted dish to give to friends this Christmas. Then wrapped them up.

 Santa Plate

 The Santa plate is just a plastic plate from the dollar store. (They came 2/$1.00) Add vinyl lettering then put in a yummy cookie mix.

Peppermint Sugar Scrub

 The peppermint sugar scrub idea and tag came from The Idea Room. She also has a few other sugar scrub recipes that I love! Make the peppermint sugar scrub then put it in some kind of jar. I also added a pair of soft red and white socks.

 One of my favorite ways to give gifts are in gable boxes. There are so many possibilities to decorating them. I used these green and red gable boxes to put the sugar scrub and socks in.

Treacherous Treats

With Halloween being 2 days away, I decided last minute to whip up a little something that the kids could give their teachers. It was super easy and quick.

All you need is any kind of some small container, ribbon, glue dots, and candy. I made the labels in photo shop using this free printable from Peonies and Poppyseeds. They have a lot of fun ideas that you should go and check out.

See I told you, super easy. This is a fun gift for teachers or anyone else for that matter.

Teacher's Back to School Kit

Here's another simple, yet practical gift for your new teachers. Fill a container with a few items that they can use in their classrooms. 

I found this cardboard tub in the dollar section at Target and filled it with clorox wipes, kleenex, glue sticks, scissors, hand sanitizer, apple shaped paper clips(found at Hobby Lobby), bag of chocolates and a jumbo paper clip bookmark.

Back to School Teacher Gift

We're still waiting for school to start here but most kids have headed back to school. Here's a simple gift to give your teachers. Thanks to Eighteen 25 for inspiring this idea. 

Supplies needed:

Flipz Milk Chocolate covered pretzels

Twine

Binder Clip

Printable tags

Monogrammed Canvas Tote

My daughter has the most wonderful piano teacher who's kind, patient, and so encouraging. Lilly bug has been taking piano for just over a year now and still loves it! Thank you Mrs. Snow!

We wanted to thank her for all she's done for our daughter so I made this cute canvas tote for her. She also plays the piano and organ at our church, so we figured she could use a bag to carry all her music books in.

I used scraps of fabric that I had to make a ruffle and fabric flower. For the ruffle I used fabric that was 3"x21".  Using the widest straight stitch on a sewing machine sew all the way down the middle then pull on the thread to gather the fabric to look like a ruffle. Pin in place on the tote and sew the ruffle down the middle. 


For instructions on how to make a fabric flower go here. After making your flower, hot glue the flower on. 


For the letter,  I ironed some Ultra Heat-N-Bond (red package) to the fabic then used my Silhoutte to cut the letter out and ironed it on to the tote. Viola!

Coach/Teacher Gift

Update: I've had a few people ask if I would share the tag, so I  made coach and teacher tags to download. I used a 3" paper punch to cut them out. You can find the tags at the end of this post! 

This week we've been focusing on teacher gift ideas but we can't forget all the wonderful coaches. My sons basketball team had their end of year party last night and we decided to make his coaches a little thank you gift. This could easily work for a teachers gift as well.

gum balls-we used orange to look like basketballs

ribbon-various colors of choice
